With 9 adult children (7 of which planned on coming--with their families) this house was close to perfect. No one got short changed on a bedroom as ALL were pretty much the same and very nice with most of them having their own bathroom. Meal time was especially fun for me (Grandmom) as we all shared the cooking responsibilities and when the "cafeteria" was open there was room for all of us-- which is no small thing. A couple of our daughters particularly enjoyed the pool because there was always somewhere where they could sit in the shade with the kids instead of worrying about getting burned. The short walk to the beach was short and used a lot. We experienced two rainy days but since there was plenty of room, no one felt cooped up. There was plenty to enjoy on the lower level during that time. We hope we can enjoy this house again.
We stayed at Southern Charm for our company retreat with a group of 30 people, and with 16 bedrooms the house had no problem fitting everyone. Add to that the multiple living areas for people to gather, and it was pretty much perfect. Greg is very responsive, so never had a question we coudn't get answered quickly. A few things that would be worth knowing about this house: 1. The kitchen is STOCKED with supplies. We brought some of our own equipment to be safe, and there was just no need. Just about anything we could dream up a need for was found in one or another of the many cabinets. 2. House is clean and well decorated. Beds were very comfortable and linens are quality. Everyone we invited was very impressed. 3. Walk to the beach is a hike. Just be sure you have everything you need as you go. Worst case is you get your exercise going back and forth. 4. Pool and Tiki bar are awesome. Our guests spent a LOT of time at both and had great fun setting up and using the bar. 5. Neighborhood is pretty strict about noise, so if you are planning live music, that can be problematic. We had a guitar player and had to have him turn it way down to avoid issues. That said, Greg worked with us and the neighborhood and all was well. And this was my fault for not taking the "no loud party" reminders to heart. They did warn me! Would definitely return, but as it is already booked for next year we'll be moving to its sister house, Southern Grace. Can't wait to see how that one stacks up to the original.
House location was very nice! Kitchen is well equipped. House is perfect size for our big family reunion. Owner is very easy to communicate with and easy to reach. Walk to the beach was perfect. Beach felt very private! Would love to come back next year!
The house was very nice and had everything you needed from beach toys, plenty of kitchen items etc. The only problem we had was the hot tub was not working properly and we had to contact the homeowner everyday to use it. This was disappointing and an inconvenience, due to the cost of the house for the week. There was also problems with the elevator at the beginning of the week. Greg was pleasant to work with and accomodating.
We stayed here for 9 days - the first half was with family followed by four days of wedding festivities! This home was a perfect size to accommodate all the guests with plenty of space to gather, or to escape to when quiet time was needed. We plan to book here again for a reunion of sorts. The weather was perfect the entire time (Aug 29th thru Sept 7th). Having the option of a pool or beach was such a treat, too - felt like a mini resort! And of course, the tiki bar was humming the entire time :) The home has everything you could need and each room was tastefully decorated (coastal style) and comfortable. Greg was awesome to work with! We will be back!
We had a total of 17 adults and 3 children (4-7), and the house was perfect for the group. Well kept, the private bathrooms offering privacy, and space plenty big for us to have fit more comfortably. We hosted a small celebration with a private chef that took full advantage of the large kitchen. Short walk to the beach with supplies / toys available for use. Greg was also responsive and available for any questions or needs.
Visited Southern Charm with three other families. Total of 8 adults and 12 kids. This place was perfect. Plenty of space. We had multiple empty bedrooms and could have accommodated at least 2 more families. The kids loved the pool. Adults loved the back deck for drinks and conversation after the kids were asleep. Very private beach. Overall an amazing property. Highly recommend.
An amazing house for Family and Friends. Plenty of room for privacy. Rented the house for a week and got married on the beach with a reception under the house after. Plenty of room and was such a beautiful event. We loved our stay and would highly recommend to EVERYONE!

Fantastic house providing ample space for a reunion of 50 ages 1/2 year to 70.. Very spacious living and deck area with a kitchen well set-up to cook nightly meals. Great pool and very quiet and beautiful beach.
This house is everything it says it is! Right on the beach, open floor plan, large windows in the living area with gorgeous view of the ocean, good sized bedrooms with private bath for each, large kitchen and a beautiful pool and tiki bar. What more could we ask! Also, Greg the manager was very helpful with all questions. We had a time of our life!!
We had the most wonderful stay for our family of 25 on Hilton Head Island. The home was beautiful and very welcoming - plenty of room for all of us. Also in a great location - just a few minute walk to the awesome beach, or for taking a ride on the bike path. Greg was great to work with - always very responsive and offered suggestions/recommendations.
One of the best family vacations to Topsail given how comfortable all extended family members were with their own master bed and bath suites.
What a house! Southern Bliss was perfect for our family reunion, all 19 of us, with plenty of room to spare! The beautiful beach was just a short walk away--no problem at all, even for our 95 year old mother who made it there and back every day under her own power; what memories...! :O)
Greg has been terrific to work with during such strange times. We are going try again next year and hope that more of our group will be able to come to Southern Grace. Beautiful house for large groups
We had a wonderful time in this almost perfect accommodation! The 10 bedrooms worked out perfectly as did the dining area. The ground level was great for the little ones on scooters and adults and teens on the pin pong table. The pool was just right for all ages. The one challenge was the noise level. Some area rugs would have helped and would highly recommend. Easy walk to the beach. We are A Florida Gulf Coast family so it was fun experiencing the Atlantic beach though….nah I’ll leave it at that! Greg was great to work with and really tried to get the elevator working. 😜 We will certainly be back!
The rental process was so easy and Greg the owner was quick to respond to any questions we had. The house is so beautiful it almost matches the surrounding area.

We rented the Southern Charm beach house for our 40 person wedding, and can’t say enough great things about it! Tons of space, beautiful location, and really clear instructions from Greg. Our entire family was blown away with how comfortable our stay was. I would highly recommend this house for a small wedding or a large party! We had a couple small plumbing issues, but they were resolved quickly. Overall a really great week on a beautiful beach!
Everyone had a great time. The best place to rent so you can spend time with everyone together & enough room to get away. The house has the perfect Layout . Would recommend to everyone with large family .
This was a great venue. Given all the scare with Covid19 in 2020 we all needed some true family time without feeling like we could not socially distance. We arrived Dec. 29th and left Jan 3rd. So yes, we had a 5 day welcome 2021 party. Greg listing of this property was spot on. With every room having its own full bathroom, that put all of us at ease. The bedroom layouts are great. With 2 full levels of living and extra living rooms along with a game area for the kids, this made hanging out together not a problem. The full porches allowed the older members of my family to just enjoy the moment without concerns. We had a few problems with the heated pool, but Greg took care of that quickly. The kitchen was fully stocked with usable Pots, Griddles and Pans so I did not need the items I brought along with me. Great job Greg. The 3 full size fridges and 3 dishwashers allowed us to minimize our trash foot print. The only downside is the steps to get to the beach. The older members of my family (65+) were not able to make the walk, but they were fine watching us Polar Plunge the New Year in. The people that did not go have already asked me for Greg information, so clearly this is a must enjoy location.
Great location for a weekend retreat. Accommodations were as promised with great sitting areas indoor and outdoors for plenty of rest and relaxation. Recommended for team or family bonding.
My Husband and I were originally supposed to be married at the Grove Park Inn. Due to the Pandemic we had to make changes to our wedding at the very last minute. One of our friends told us about the Southern Charm House in Holden Beach. We had never been to Holden Beach however we thought it would be a great idea for a back up plan. Our wedding was this past weekend and it was perfect!!! In our eyes it was actually better than the Grove Park Inn. The house slept our entire wedding party plus family perfectly. The pictures on VRBO do not do the house justice. It was absolutely gorgeous and our wedding was everything we wanted and then some. The owner was amazing to work with and very quick with his responses. He even assisted with finding a caterer and officiant. We planned our wedding in less than 90 days and it was absolutely perfect. I highly highly recommend. We had a gathering of college friends, almost all of which were over 70 years of age. This property was perfect! Although a few couples could not come over Covid virus concerns, the 21 of us had a great time. The space is amazing! Highly recommend.
We had an amazing September wedding in this house. We slept 34 people extremely comfortably, and kids got their own bunk bed rooms to romp around in. Kitchen fit/fed everyone, pool did the reception just fine, beach was amazing! Only issue was some biting flies and mosquitoes; but the owner left the number for a company to call and took them less than 48 hours to get out.
We had our beach wedding at the house and it could not have turned out any better. We had around 45 guests and we all were comfortable in the house. It’s large enough that everyone has their own space and very quiet for the bedrooms in the front. The bride suite is located below the living room and kitchen so it got a little loud at night if guests were still moving about but otherwise I have nothing but good things to say. Great location, you have your own beach area and it’s quiet.
We rented the house for our extended family vacation ( 21 adults and 10 kids) and had a wonderful time. The kitchen accommodated all of us easily for cooking and dining - plenty of refrigerator space and cook tops. The pool and tiki bar was a big plus giving us a other hangout besides the beach.
Rare property that was able to house three generations of our family under one roof with ease - over 30 of us total. Owner was great communicator even through the unexpected with COVID and any small issues that came up during our week at the beach. Proximity to the beach and the pool with tiki bar was great for families with kids of all ages. Highly recommend!
Our 30 guests were overwhelmed by the beauty of the property and Holden Beach. The 180 degree ocean vista with both sunrises and sunsets was stunning. Owner Greg went above and beyond to assure that we had a memorable 5 days - after accommodating us when Hurricane Dorian struck the island on our initial reservation dates. He could not have been nicer. The house is stunning and practical for large groups.
My family found Southern Charm to be a lovely place with excellent views of the ocean, waterway and marsh. More birds (many varieties) than ever! The well equipped house was great. We will be returning next year.
